Saemaul TextbookIn order to effectively carry out education for the SU movement, each agency of the central government, the Saemaul Undong Central Council and the Saemaul Leaders Training Institute produced various types of textbooks. In particular, the Saemaul Textbook, jointly produced by the Exemplary Farm Training Institute and the Ministry of Home Affairs in 1972, can be regarded as the comprehensive handbook of the SU movement.Records Search

Saemaul Illustration BooksSaemaul Illustration Books, first produced by the Presidential Secretariat from 1972 until 1987, most vividly illustrate detailed aspects of the SU movement promoted nationwide each year. Saemaul Undong OverviewThese are voice recordings in English from 1979 introducing the SU movement, including an overview and history of the movement. Approximately 28 minutes in length, these audio files were stored in the form of open reel tapes and have been reproduced in Japanese, French and Spanish versions, allowing more people from other countries to learn about the SU movement in their native languages.Records Search

Wolgan Saemaul (Monthly Saemaul)Wolgan Saemaul, published from 1972 to 1989 in the form of a magazine, was a compilation of articles on the progress of Saemaul projects of each month, best practice cases and farm village news. It also provided entertainment and cultural information such as readers’ opinions, serial novels and cartoons as a means to encourage readers to take an interest in the SU movement.Records Search

Session Discussion ChartsSession discussion charts are valuable materials for understanding the activities of trainees of the Saemaul Leaders Training Institute such as public officials and students. Through session discussions, trainees presented and shared the progress of the SU movement in each of their villages and came up with measures to deal with different issues.Records Search

Letters from GraduatesLetters from those who completed their Saemaul Undong Training write about the training program itself, their impressions after undergoing the program, the progress of Saemaul projects after graduating from the program and their resolutions as Saemaul Leaders. Records Produced by VillagesMeeting minutes best represent records produced by villages. As an effort to explore ways to develop each village, meeting minutes reflected all opinions of the villagers brought forth at meetings, irrespective of whether they were for or against the agenda item at hand.
